This non-profit, sister organization to Historic Interpretations portrays characters in historical fiction. These particular events allow volunteers and patrons to stretch beyond documented history and become Don Quixote, The Queen of Hearts, or even the Headless Horseman.

Time Travelers' Ball | Organized by Jen Kirk
Come dress in costume from your favorite real or fictional times! Elizabethan, Doctor Who, The Jazz Age, Star Trek, Steampunk, Regency- it’s your call, ANYTHING GOES, real or imagined!
Music will be modern with sounds from other eras too! Light refreshments will be provided. Soft sole shoes required (vintage wooden dance floor).
Mr. Fezziwig's Ball | Organized by Lucy Proctor-Ringland Join Mr. And Mrs. Fezziwig as they present their annual holiday ball, straight out of the pages of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, at The Reality Center in Durham, NC.
Step onto the dance floor for an evening of Regency dancing to live music by Syllabub (Mara Shea, Julie Gorka, andWalt Robinson). If you don't know the dances, help will be provided - they are fun to learn! You can even try your hand at whist, forfeits, and other historic games!
Sample a generous sideboard and meet characters from the novel as you join in an evening of holiday merriment!
Period attire is admired, but not required. We request formal dress for those not choosing to don period costume.
You must be at least 12 years of age to attend. Tickets are $35 per person. There will be no alcohol at this event.
The VanTassel Harvest Ball: A Sleepy Hollow Masquerade Organized by Directed Jaclyn Bell Stevens
Historic Interpretations, Inc. is proud to announce a masquerade ball themed around the chilling American classic, "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow", by Washington Irving. Amidst the dinning and dancing you will interact with the characters including Ichabod Crane, your effervescent host, Baltus Van Tassel, and perhaps even the Headless Horseman himself. The evening is a mix of harvest merriment and Halloween revelry. Wear your favorite party clothes, dress in your favorite Halloween costume, or don your best colonial garb-- just join us for this amazing evening!
