Historic Interpretations Supports First Person Interpretation
We have designed a number of programs around daily life of the history of the Common Era. These programs support our offerings at various historic events and sites, and are excellent learning opportunities for all our volunteers. Participants take on a persona either from history or portray one based on research. Many volunteers also assist in our demonstrations in the areas of cooking, trades, etc.
Festivals and historic venues frequently call upon Historic Interpretations to provide accurate and entertaining demonstrations and programs portraying day to day civilian life in the historic periods we interprets, tailored to the theme of the event or site. Previously we have represented 16th and 18th century villages, complete with working tradespeople and pastime activities. There are many places where a volunteer can support Historic Interpretations: we have education programs, demonstrations, performance, and film opportunities.

Novel Entertainments | Storytellers' Guilde
Historic Interpretations goes beyond history and brings to life classic fictional characters at events throughout the year. Past events include FezziWig's Ball, a festive recreation of the Christmas celebration from Dickens' A Christmas Carol, and an evening of dining, dancing, and suspense with our interpretation of the Van Tassel Harvest Ball from Sleepy Hollow. Film Guilde
Historic Interpretations actively pursues the making of short, historic films on a wide variety of topics. This group also regularly captures our performances and events. HI has also just debuted our first short film, Let Tyrants Fear, featuring the famous Tilbury Speech given by Queen Elizabeth I on the eve of the Spanish Invasion of England in 1588.

Costuming Guilde
We pride ourselves on our level of accuracy and detail. Through research and skill the costuming guilde keeps an inventory our current holdings, create costumes, manage the collection, and do repairs as needed. There's room for anyone who wants to volunteer (sewing experience not required!)

The facilitation and disbursement of member materials, handbooks, waivers, and yearly volunteer subscriptions falls to this group of task-masters. The purpose of this committee is to recruit and retain members; ensure members are informed, involved, and recognized; and to track membership trends. |
