Life in a Tudor Village
What was daily life like in 16th century England? Come play games such as Fox & Geese, 9-Mans’ Morris, Hood Man’s Blind and Bocce Ball, learn the Bear Dance, learn to make Tudor foods and drink, learn to dress like an Elizabethan (and how to make the clothes), and see and handle the arms and armor of the day. Join us for a 16th century Church of England service!
The Household of an Elizabethan Noble Family
Castles and carriages, extravagant clothing, servants and fine food, the nobles of England maintained large and complex households that included people from every walk of life. Maids to footmen, liveried guards, brewmasters, cooks, clothiers, all were in service to His Lordship and his family. See how ‘the other half’ lived in the 16th century, and how the various people in the household interact to manage a noble family and their holding.
The Court of Mary, Queen of Scots
Mary Stuart, Queen of Scotland is a prominent figure in history, and her short reign is by many is considered a romantic tragedy. In truth, Mary Stuart faced the opposition of many of her people and that of England in her claim to the throne of both Scotland and England. Raised in France, she never truly understood her role and the obstacles she faced. We portray her court and the interesting interaction of the French and Scottish people that made the Stuart Court so fascinating.
